Credit Status Explanation

Poor: Potential borrower has little to no credit history, has experienced bankruptcies/liens/or judgments against credit within the last 10 years, or has been reported to a collection agency within the last 10 years.

Fair: Potential borrower has a history of several outstanding delinquencies or a history of late payments consistently 60 days or more over due.

Good: Potential borrower has a good credit history with existing credit cards, auto loans, or mortgage. Usually pays bills on time but has missed a few payments on occasion within the last 7 years. Has had no bankruptcies, liens or judgments within the last 7 to 10 years.

Excellent: Potential borrower has established a substantial credit history with existing or past credit cards, auto loans, or mortgage. Almost universally, pays bills on time - every time, with at most one late payment in previous 7 years.
